eLearning

Course Overview

Robusta and Climate Change is an interactive training centered around climate change's effects on coffee production. Rising temperatures create challenges for Arabica coffee bean farmers. Robusta beans can thrive in these warmer climates. The training introduces learners to the less popular bean Robusta, its history, and benefits for coffee production in the future.

Course Design

The Robusta and Climate Change training is a multi-modal instructional product for adult learners and corporate coffee enthusiasts. The visual design is minimal and contemporary to emulate high-end coffee brands. The imagery helps the learner connect with various locations. The design includes color theory, visual design style, data visualization, and Universal Design elements. The learning theories involved in the product include Adult Learning Theory, CATML, Cognitive Load, and Multimodality. Several interactive elements enable the learner to digest large data sets, which include flip cards and an interactive map. The project implements Universal Design principles for greater accessibility. At the end of the training, learners will identify key differences between two leading coffee bean types, and consider which is best for the climate and their company culture.

Target Audience
